Dragobrat ski resort is the highest elevated winter resort in Ukraine.
Dragobrat is wild. Main base with hotels and guesthouses is situated on the elevation of 1400 meters, 15 km offroad from Yasinya village in Transcarpathian region between two highest mountain ranges in Ukraine – Chornogora and Svydovets. Having such a favourable gepgraphical position it enjoys natural deep snow cover from November till April. Quite often skiing is possible even in early May although the snow is pretty wet by then and surrounding valleys are full of blossoming flowers.
Dragobrat ski resort is a cool place for freeriders, lovers or deep snow and thoose who prefer adventure above comfort. There are 3 lifts operating up to 1700 meters taking you higher than forests level. Views are magnifficent.
Civilisations stays together with crowds in nearby Bukovel and only bravest fans of winter sports make it up to Dragobrat.
There are a few hotels and guesthouses offering decent accommodation. Prices start from as low as 150 UAH (14 EUR, 19 USD) per person.
Getting there and away
Dragobrat is towering above Yasinya village, which is only 20 km south of Bukovel and 140 km from Ivano-Frankivsk along H09 road. There is almost no way you can make Yasinya-Gragobrat 15 km long dirt road with a private car. You need a 4×4 at a very least or probably better idea is to take a jeep-taxi from Yasinya. You can find jeep-taxi in Yasinya railway station or in the beginnig of the road up to Dragobrat just after the bridge in southern part of the village.
You can get to Yasinya with numerous buses operating between towns of Ivano-Frankivska oblast (region) and Transcarpathian region (Zakarpatska oblast).
Daily train #606 Lviv-Rakhiv stops in Yasinya as well. Here is its schedule: Lviv(15:20)-Iv.Frankivsk(18:40)-Tatariv, Bukovel(21:43)-Yasinya(22:46)-Rakhiv(23:48) and return Rakhiv(00:54)-Yasinya(01:50)-Tatariv, Bukovel(02:55)-Iv.Frankivsk(04:57)-Lviv(09:13).
